Product Owner - Values, Principles, Values

 

This sub-topic is following Kent Beck's pattern that practices without values and principles are barren.

 

What we did was a mind map.

Practices:

  • Lead creation of initial product backlog
  • Prioritizes product backlog
  • Helps set clear, team goal
  • Team goals – goals, conditions of satisfaction, project level, iteration level
  • Explains PBI’s
  • Decides when to release / continue / cancel
  • Approves / disapproves the sprint review
  • Manages / owns risks
  • Synchronize customer expectations with the team
  • Active participant in testing
  • Visiting other teams and PO to get better
  • Driving the vision
  • Sits with team
  • Explains business value
